Types of Inshore fishing in the Indian River Lagoon System, Florida

For those who want to challenge themselves stalking inshore species on the flats and drop offs in the Banana River, Indian River Lagoon, Sebastian and The Mosquito Lagoon. inshore fishing awa

Some of the top anglers in the world visit the Space Coast to hone their skills on our seemingly endless shallow-water grassflats. Mosquito Lagoon, the Indian River and the Banana River are prime flats-fishing destinations. If you’re a serious skinny-water fisherman, All Water Adventures can arrange for you to try your hand at flats-fishing the Indian River Lagoon with a skilled fishing guide in a high-end flats boat. You’ll target redfish, seatrout, snook, black drum and tarpon while your guide poles along the flat and identifies fish to cast at, either with a conventional rod or fly rod.

Inshore/ Flats

Central Florida is home to an incredibly diverse inshore saltwater environment. Thousands of acres of shallow grass flats, miles of canals and shorelines are home to many resident and migrating fish. Stalking redfish, sea trout, snook, tarpon and many others are becoming increasingly popular to a wide variety of anglers. Light tackle and fly fishing for these inshore species are both relaxing and exciting. Accessing these flats can be as easy as pulling off the road in places or skimming the glass-like rivers at dawn in a high dollar flats boat. There are many experience inshore guides available to visitors or residents alike. Manatees, dolphin, and bird life round out the experience.
